Movie Mandates 10: Sin City
In which Tom and Ryan give a basic Intro to Graphical Storytelling to Jaime, and a discussion of college douchbaggery through film and music.
Movie ManDates is a podcast where one man is forced to attend a Man Date and watch a movie he's never seen by two (or more) of his more culturally endowed friends. It is hosted by Jaime, Ryan, and Tom with special guests throughout.
In which Tom and Ryan give a basic Intro to Graphical Storytelling to Jaime, and a discussion of college douchbaggery through film and music.
In which Tom and Ryan are very graciously joined by DC Pierson, author of "The Boy Who Couldn't Sleep and Never Had To," one fifth of DERRICK Comedy, and star of the new one-man show, "DC Pierson Is Bad At Girls" -- all of whom prove that if you're nerdy enough, you can go off on a wild tangent from a grizzly, artful portrayal of mob life to Andie MacDowell's relevance in popular culture. In episode 8, we mentioned we'd be watching Total Recall. We had to push that back, but rest assured we'll get to it!
In which Ryan and Tom briefly discuss holiday movie disappointments, and Jaime introduces them to a classic cop drama. Do you pick YOUR feet in Poughkeepsie?
Happy Holidays, everyone! In this special bonus Christmas episode, Jaime is exposed to the magical Christmas wonder of Scrooged, the 1988 Bill Murray classic. Jaime knows absolutely NOTHING about this movie, so don't spoil it! God bless us, everyone. EVERY ONE.
In which our heroes find scheduling a four-hour block of time to watch and podcast this movie so difficult, they decide to convene via Skype instead. Jaime exposes Ryan AND Tom to this mid-90's classic in a super-sized episode in honor of Braveheart.
In which Ryan surprises absolutely nobody with his opinion on this cult comedy classic; the same comedy classic that Jaime once mistook for a porno that accidentally got shuffled into his "New Releases" section in his local Video King. New releases, indeed!
In which Jaime is introduced to "The Pulp Fiction" (from the director of "The Reservoir Dogs"), and Ryan becomes Six Degrees champ with the help of an unlikely movie at the last possible second.
In which Jaime is joined by special guest Johnathan Fernandez of the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre in New York, to introduce Ryan AND Tom to 'Annie Hall.' Special appearance by the 7 train!
In which it is discovered that Ryan has yet to see the family classic "The Great Muppet Caper," or ANY Muppet movie for that matter, and Tom geeks out at the opportunity to name any and every bit of Muppet trivia.
In our pilot episode of Movie ManDates, Tom and Ryan force Jaime to watch "The Big Lebowski" for the first time, who confuses it for "Kingpin". Also, the audio quality is sure to improve. Surely
